Bio
Alexander Troutner is an independent labor analyst and economic commentator based in Utah. He is the creator of Urgently Firing, a YouTube channel dedicated to investigating popular narratives about money and work. Through video essays, articles, and guest commentary, Alexander repeatedly produces viral videos on the socioeconomic issues impacting young American workers.
Alexander has been researching, consulting, and teaching about the job market since 2017. He has served as an Executive Board Member for the Utah Career Development Association, as a Career Specialist, Instructor, and Employer Relations Manager for Utah State University, and has received numerous research grants and awards for his contributions to workforce development.
Prior to his career in higher education, Troutner spent 7 years working blue-collar jobs on various worksites across the rural Intermountain West.
